Bud Hager was the son of Delmer "Dell" and Minnie "Woods" Hager
of Meadow Fork of Hewett W.Va.
He gave his life that we can have freedom.
They didn't send his body home until I believe it was 1949 and that was when he was buried in the George Hager Cemetery on Meadow Fork of Hewett. Where his Daddy is also buried. But his Mother Minnie Hager is buried on the Hager Farm on up the hollow about 2 miles in the Minnie Hager Cemetery.

PVT. Eldon H. Hager To Be Buried Sunday
Service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Meadow Fork Chapel for PVT. Eldon Harold Hager, 21, son of Mrs. Minnie Hager of Hewett and the late Delmer D. Hager. He was killed August 7, 1943, in Tunisia, while serving with the Army. The Rev. Charles Spencer of Hewett will officiate. Burial will be in Clover Hill Cemetery.
In addition to his mother, PVT Hager is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Ona Hager, Mrs. Willard Core and Miss Lorene Hager, all of Hewett, and Miss Nelda Hager of Jeffrey; two brothers, William and Charles at home; and a half sister, Mrs. Clarence Burgess of Gordon. The body is at Hunter and Hunter mortuary in Madison and will be taken to his mother's home at 4 p.m. today.

Three southern West Virginia soldiers were listed yesterday as casualties by the War Department.
Killed in Action in the North African area which includes Sicily were PVT William F. Collinsworth, son of Mrs. Erie Nichols of Mead, Raleigh County, and PVT Eldon H. Hager, son of Minnie C. Hager of Hewett, Boone County.
Staff SGT. Kosta Glannaras, son of Vasiolax Glannaras of Whitesville, is missing in action in the Southwest Pacific area.
