WELLSVILLE – Ruth E. Thrasher, 84, of Wellsville, passed away Friday, July 17, 2020, at Calcutta Health Care Center.
She was born July 22, 1935, in Wellsville, the daughter of the late Mildred (Echols) and Vernon Howell, Sr. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by three sisters: Mary Jane Wright, Pat Boley, and Martha Blackburn; and two brothers: Tom Howell and Albert Howell.
Ruth graduated from Wellsville High School in 1953. She was employed for many years as a clerk at the former Sell’s Market. Ruth was a member of the Wellsville Eagles Aerie 772 and the Wellsville American Legion Post 70.
Survivors include one daughter, Suzanne Ours of Fort Drum, NY; two sons: Randy Thrasher and Steve Thrasher, both of Wellsville; and two brothers: Jim Howell and his wife, Cindy, of Wellsville, and Bobby Howell and his wife, Sandy, of Corpus Cristi, TX. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
According to Ruth’s wishes, no services will be held.
