A lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Thurman and Zelma Keyes Burnette; in addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother. Irene retired from Dayco with 35 ½ years in the foam department. She was a member of New Covenant Church and enjoyed socializing, spending time with her grandchildren, and was a member of an Antique Car Club.
Irene is survived by one daughter, Harriett Blevins, and her husband, Pastor Tim; son, Scott Chambers, and his wife, Jill; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
