Mary Frances Bond

Mary Frances Bond, 82, passed away Thursday, July 23rd in Panama City, Florida due to Covid-19.

She was born on April 2, 1938, in Meridian, Mississippi. She graduated from Meridian High School in 1956, and attended Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi, where she was a member of the Kappa Delta sorority. In May of 1960, she married Charles Bond and moved to Panama City, Florida where they raised two children, Kim and Chuck.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Panama City, and a member of the Jaycees, Junior Woman’s Club, Daughters of the American Revolution and co-chaired Children of the American Revolution for many years. She was the epitome of a great southern lady and had the most beautiful southern drawl. She loved her family fiercely and made everything she did beautiful and special. Her sweet birthday group of Judy Davis, Carolyn Branch, JoAn Gramling, Judy Haney and Kay Rivard brought her great joy and laughter. Also dear to her were her Vista Lane neighbors (Zelma, Mary, Rick and Robbie). After embracing her husband Charlie of 44 years, she is now reunited with her dear sister Barbara and lifetime friend Kay Rivard. She loved her family, friends and Jesus.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward C. Semmes of Meridian, Mississippi, her husband Charles R. Bond of Panama City, Florida, her brother Edward Semmes, Jr. of Sarasota, Florida, and her sister Barbara S. Caperton of Meridian, Mississippi.

She is survived by her daughter, Kim Carroll and husband Larry of Panama City, Florida, her son, Chuck Bond of Panama City, Florida, and her beloved grandchildren, Keith Carroll and wife Kala, Scott Carroll and wife Sarah, Katie (Carroll) Stangl and husband Joe, Mitchell Bond, Jena (Bond) Faust and husband Tyler, great grandchild Gray and Jenni Bond, whom they all referred to as Grammy. She is also survived by her sweet sister Ann, whom she loved dearly, sister-in-law Patsy Bond Caraway, along with nieces and nephews Mark, Gregg, Beth, Carl, Terri, Sherri, Diann, Herbert, Les and Dave.

A private family viewing will be held Sunday, July 26th at Wilson Funeral Home of Panama City, Florida, followed by a private graveside burial. Those desiring may make a contribution to the First Baptist Church of Panama City, Florida Building Fund, P.O. Box 1200, Panama City Florida 32402.
