Wayne T. Green, 74, of Waynesville, passed away on July 23, 2020 at Haywood Regional Medical Center in Clyde.
A lifelong native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late James Harrison and Rebecca Lena Gunter Green. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his niece Michele Clayton Hall.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Jane of 51 years; son, Travis Green (Sabrina); two daughters, Tammy Hays (John) and Tiffany Spell (Ryan); two sisters, Carolyn Clayton and Juanita Garrett (Gerald); and the joy of his life, his grandson, Josh Green; along with numerous extended family and close friends.
He retired from Evergreen Paper with 44 years of service. Wayne enjoyed old cars, car shows, football, meeting up with old friends and talking, and going to Myrtle Beach. He was the number one supporter of his grandson Josh and never missed any of his events. Wayne never knew a stranger and could talk to anybody. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park with Denton Ashe officiating.
