Obituary
Christian Thompson Allen, was born in Galen, Wayne County, New York, February 24, 1853, and died of Bright's Disease after an illness of several weeks at his home in Napolean, Michigan, May 13, 1896.
The funeral services were held at the Freewill Baptist Church. A large concourse of friends followed the remains to its last resting place, a beautiful spot in Napolean Cemetery to await the Master's call on the last day.
A wife, Lorena Griffith Allen, six children, his mother Mrs. Alonzo (Clarinda Thompson Allen) Rolfe, and his sister, Mrs. Catherine (Allen) French are left to mourn the loss of a dear one.
"O, when we near death's gloomy wave,
and stand upon the brink,
How sweet to feel that he can save
and hold us lest we sink."
