William Hardy Barber, age 72, of Greenville, GA passed away, Wednesday July 22, 2020 at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, GA.

Bill as he was best known by his friends and family, was born September 3,1947 in Talbotton, GA. He was the son of Hugh Dorsey Barber, Sr. and Carolyn Gladys Chapman Barber.

Bill joined the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War and served aboard the USS Kitty Hawk and the USS Enterprise. He was retired for Bell South Telephone Company. He loved the outdoors, working on old tractors and keeping his rental properties up. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren especially. He was proud of being sober for 38 years, and he and his wife helped many families that struggled with addictions.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Linda Becton Barber of Greenville, daughter Crystal Elliott of Woodbury, GA; sons William H. Barber of Hogansville, GA and Ken Barber and his wife Holly of Woodbury, GA; grandchildren Cameron Elliott, Eben Elliott, and Wyatt Barber and brother Hugh Dorsey Barber, Jr. of Franklin, GA.

Graveside services for Mr. Barber will be held 4:00 pm Sunday, July 26, 2020 at Meriwether Memory Gardens with Dr. Will Cole officiating. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we ask that you please abide by the CDC guidelines and use mask and social distancing during the service.

Memorials may be given to the local AA and Alon chapters c/o P. O. Box 383 Warm Springs, GA.
