He was drafted at Wilmington, DE, on 18 Jun 1864 to serve three years. He gave his age as 34, his occupation as laborer, and his birthplace as Kent County, DE. He was transferred from the 30th USCI to the 28th USCI, date not recorded. In Feb 1865, he was assigned as a teamster; and, from May-Oct 1865, he was assigned as a cook. He mustered out on 8 Nov 1865 at Corpus Christi, TX. He paid the government $6.00 to keep his musket.
