Gary graduated from Admiral King High School in 1966. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where he served as a jet mechanic and achieved the rank of sergeant. Prior to his honorable discharge in 1971, he was based at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH. He later attended Lorain County Community College, Elyria.
Gary loved putting together model airplanes and cars. He always had a passion for anything related to science fiction. He was also a photographer and videographer.
His interest in technology led to his employment by several engineering firms using his expertise as a computer aided design operator.
Gary was an active member of Tower Baptist Church, Lorain, where he was a member of the church choir, and operated the church's sound board for church services and other activities.
Gary peacefully passed away at Community Health Partners in Lorain, on September 21, 2006, following a lengthy illness.
In addition to his loving mother, Gary leaves to cherish his memory daughters, Cherina Hollett, Elyria and Lizbeth Crisp, North Olmsted; a son Gary Jr., Elyria; two grand- sons, Hunter and Carter Mason, a great-nephew, Frank Anthony Crisp, Jr., and a great-niece Wynter Tatiana Crisp; sisters Yolanda Crisp of Lakewood, OH, and Janet (Crisp)Smith of Atlanta, GA; nephews Tony and Brian Crisp of Atlanta, GA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Daisy Gillis Williams; paternal grandparents, William and Ollie Crisp; father, Alphonce Crisp, and brother, Philip Crisp.
