Marvin Lewis Thomas, 53, of Rockford went to eternal rest on Monday, April 8th 2019.


Marvin was born December 26th 1965 in Edmondson Arkansas to Fred Joseph Stinson and Judy Brown.


He attended East High School. He was formerly employed by 7up Bottling Group as a truck driver. Marvin was a Christian. He attended St. Paul Church of God in Christ where he recently gave his life back to God. Marvin enjoyed things such as baseball, football, fishing, playing cards with family and friends. His favorite shows were old westerns and Law & Order but his pride and joy came from his children and grandchildren.


Marvin leaves to cherish many precious memories, three daughters; Caprisha (Tavares) Perteete, Emily Stinson (Pumpkin Head) of Rockford and Vasiliki Glenis (KiKi) of Springfield, Illinois; five grandchildren, Tyree Williams, TaCya Williams, Aalysiana Ford, Aria Hudson, and Chucky Laster Jr.; mother, Judy (Earl)Brown; three sisters, Aretha Gaston, Marlo (Anthony) Sowell, Patricia Pracket; one brother, Milton (Rea) Jones of Rockford; special friends, Minor Thomas of Camden Arkansas and James McFadden of Rockford; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.


Marvin was predeceased by his father Fred Joseph Stinson, grandmother, Emily Thomas, grandfather Ivory Thomas, uncles, Jeffery D. Thomas (Heavy D) and Larry James Thomas, and nephew Darren Barmore.
