Karen M. Simon, age 58, ofLancaster, died on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at Grant Regional HealthCenter, Lancaster after a twenty year battle with MS. She was born on October 19, 1953, in Lancaster, the daughter of Francis and Fannie R. (Seippel) Simon. Karen graduated from Bloomington High School in 1971. She attended Southwest Wisconsin Technical College and graduated from the Account Clerk program in1972 with high honors. Karen was employed at Clyde Johnson Company, Schurman Cheese Factory, Unified Counseling Service, Exlir,Elwell, Reynolds & Rice, and twenty-two years for the City of Lancaster as the Deputy Clerk Treasurer. She enjoyed knitting,reading, fishing and hunting.

Survivors include her mother, Fannie Simon,Bloomington; her brother, Dawin (Bev) Simon, Beetown; and a niece,nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Francis Simon.

Funeral services were held on Friday, May 25, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. in Lancaster with Bill Manthe officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster.
