Raymond Harold Patrick, age 88, of Richlands, Virginia drew his last breath on this earth, Tuesday, July 21, 2020 in a local Richlands hospital following a lengthy illness.

Raymond was born in Jewell Ridge, VA on December 17, 1931 and was the son of the late R.R. Patrick and Mollie Smith Patrick, former Jewell Ridge natives. He was a 1949 graduate of Richlands High School and went on to become an Accountant/Bookkeeper for Pauley Mining, Jewell Smokeless and several others. Raymond was the former manager of the Flanary Theater and former owner of Lil’ John’s Restaurant, famous for it’s fried chicken. He proudly served as a Mason for 60 years and was a member of the Richlands Masonic lodge and was a 33rd Degree Shriner. He was also an avid collector of Richlands history and memorabilia. Raymond was a loving husband, a great father, and an amazing grandfather and great grandfather. He was a member of the Hill Creek Baptist Church and was a lifelong resident of the Richlands area. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Peggy Flanary Patrick; brothers, Percy Patrick, Danny Patrick and an infant sister.

Those who remain to carry on his spirit are:

His daughter, Terri Ringstaff and husband, Eugene of Richlands, VA

The joy of his life, his special grandson, Dr. John Patrick Ringstaff and wife, Ashley Hughes Ringstaff of Mosley, VA

He loved spending time with his great grandchildren, Mackenzie and Madeline Ringstaff

A host of family and friends also survive.

A graveside service for Raymond Harold Patrick will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, July 24, 2020 at the Hankins Family Cemetery in Richlands, VA with the Rev. Bill Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Raymond’s wish was in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hill Creek Baptist Church; Hill Creek Road; Richlands, VA 24641.
