He is survived by his wife Lynn Allen, his daughter Christy Horton and son-in-law Jody Horton, his daughter Sheila Allen, his son Brian West and son-in-law Charles West, his son Jason Allen and daughter-in-law Amanda Jameson Allen, and his 9 grandchildren Cailee Horton, Holley Story, Cambrynn Allen, Hanna Story, Landon Allen, Rylee Allen, Jameson Allen, Reid Allen, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Leonard graduated from Blue Ridge High School in 1965 and joined the National Guard in 1967. In his younger days, he enjoyed barrel racing, playing football, and modified dirt track racing. He enjoyed coaching softball, playing volleyball with friends and neighbors, and completing many home projects with his wife Lynn. As he got older, he enjoyed watching TV and most importantly, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Leonard was a Christian man and is now resting peacefully in paradise with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Thursday evening and then a funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday July 24, 2020 at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home in Denton. There will be a family burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton.
