James Thomas Manning

Mr. James Thomas Manning, age 87, resident of Winona, died of heart failure after a brief illness Saturday, January 29, 1994 at Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Anderson Manning and the widower of the late Mrs. Ruby Waggoner Manning.

A native of Carthage, Mr. Manning was a retired supervisor for General Motors, a member of Winona First Presbyterian Church, and a lifetime member of Angerona Masonic Lodge #168 F&AM of Memphis, Tennessee.

He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Betty Terry of Hobe Sound, Florida; his sister, Mrs. Jewel Coker of Jackson; four brothers, Canton Manning of Memphis, Emerson Manning of Byhalia, Rodney Manning of Holly Springs, and Leon Manning of Southaven; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel Monday, January 31, at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Harold Richardson officiating. Burial followed in Winona Garden of Memory.

Serving as pallbearers were Bob Ellis, Jerry Hoover, John Sumner, Lamar Shelton, Ed Forsythe and Joe Curtis.

Oliver Funeral Home of Winona was in charge of arrangements.
