GRAND GORGE - Kathryn B. Marshall, 86, passed peacefully at her Grand Gorge home, in the arms of her daughters, surrounded by family, on July 20, 2020.
Kathryn was lovingly referred to by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many more as Nonnie or Non.
Born in Margaretville, to Olive and Charles Becker, Kathryn and her twin brother, Kenneth, were the first twins born at Margaretville Hospital.
She is survived by her twin brother, Kenneth (Anita) Becker; children, Steven (Debra) Hubbard, Sheryl (Donald) Potter, Sandra (Kenneth) Rockwell and Scott (Lisa) Hubbard; beloved nieces, Gail (Orrie) Riccobono, Kathyanna (Carl) Bagnardi, Mary Rose (Bob) Coskey, Patrick (Barb) Marshall; sister in-law, Margie Becker; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Kathryn was predeceased by her loving husband, Justin Marshall; brother, Gerald Becker and his daughter, Betsy Becker; sister, Dawn Walsh and her son, Billy Walsh.
Kathryn grew up in Prattsville, where she attended a one-room school house. In 1951, she graduated from Gilboa-Conesville Central School.
Kathryn worked as a secretary at Gilboa school for many years.
Though her true devotion was being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she had a love of her country and was a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary. A true Patriot, she held the highest position of Sixth District president. For God and Country, she proudly attended conferences and conventions of the American Legion.
Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, July 23, at Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury. A graveside service will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery, Prattsville.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Grand Gorge Rescue Squad.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury.
