BEAUFORT, S.C. — Freda M. Rowe, 89, of Morningside Assisted Living in Beaufort, S.C., formerly of Salineville, passed away in Savannah, Ga., Saturday following a brief illness.

She was a registered nurse who cared for baby John F. Kennedy Jr. and then appeared as a contestant on the television show "Whatís My Line?"

She was born in Salineville, Oct. 2, 1917, the only child of the late James and Mary (Van Royen) Woodward. She was married to Evan Keith Rowe of Bergholz who died on April 2, 1980.

Freda is survived by a daughter, Maribeth Somers, of Port Royal, S.C., and by two sons, Evan Keith (Jan) Rowe Jr. of Boone, N.C., and James W. Rowe of Beaufort, S.C.; six grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev John Tully at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Salineville. Following the Mass, Freda will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Bergholz Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 285 Second St., Bergholz from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Friday.
