Mary Ann graduated from Westerly High School and the St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Hartford, Conn. She was an OR Nurse at The Westerly Hospital for several years. Continuing on in the nursing field, she was also a Visiting Nurse. She was a dedicated nurse and always gave her patients the highest standard of care.
After retiring from nursing, she assisted her husband Frank in their food catering businesses. She was an accomplished cook and baker, possessing wonderful culinary skills. Additionally, she was very gifted in sewing and decorating and enjoyed decorating her home for the holidays.
Always helpful and caring, she was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend. The joy of her life was her only grandson, Humphrey.
Mary Ann was a beautiful person, with beautiful qualities, gracious and always cheerful.
When cold weather descended, she and her husband would fly to Florida to spend the winter in their condo in Naples, which she enjoyed tremendously.
Spending time with her family was of utmost importance to her, and she will be deeply missed by her family and many, many, friends.
Mary Ann was the loving mother of daughter Joyce Algiere Amedeo, son Frank R. Algiere Jr., loving grandmother "Nonnie" of Humphrey J. Amedeo IV, loving mother-in-law of Humphrey J. Amedeo III, also loving sister of Richard S. Capalbo.

Visiting hours will be Thursday, Dec. 30, in Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly from 2 to 6 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Vincent de Paul Church, 7 Church St., Bradford, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 31, 2010.
There is no procession from the funeral home to the church.
Burial will take place immediately following in St Sebastian Cemetery, Westerly.
