John was also the former caretaker of Lutheran Cemetery in Schoharie and Sexton of Schoharie United Presbyterian Church.
John was predeceased by his parents: Robert and Shirley Warner and his stepdaughter, Jill Carroll.
He is survived by his wife, Judith Warner; Sister, Roberta Donato (Donald); Daughter, Deborah Giakoumis (Mikes); Sons, Robert Warner (Sonja), Jason Warner; Stepchildren: James Myers Jr (Lynette), Jonathan Myers (Diana), Robin Messick (Robert), Sara Hogan (Christopher). Grandchildren; Michael John Desormeaux, Noelle King (Zachary), Danelle Desormeaux, Katelyn Desormeaux, Shawn Warner. Step-Grandchildren; Evan Walker, Dana Myers, Jamie Myers, Stephanie Myers, Michael Carroll Jr, Kyle Carroll (Paige), Adam Carroll, Kymberly Carroll, TJ Smith (Serena), Ryan Smith, Emily Hogan, Kristen Hogan. Great Grandchildren; Ethan Warner, Zecheriah Warner, Guthrie King. Step-Great Grandchildren; Kelsey Carroll, Samantha Carroll, Alyssa Carroll, Michael Carroll III, Sakura Carroll, James Carroll, Carter Smith. John has numerous nieces and nephews.
John was a long time active member of Duanesburg Florida Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee and also as an Elder.
He loved his family and church family and was always ready with a joke or prank to make people laugh.
John was also a member of Middleburgh Rod and Gun Club. He loved hunting, fishing, boating and camping. He was ever ready for the next fishing or hunting trip near or far. John was a seasonal camper at Sacandaga Bible Conference for many years.
He was a former member of Schoharie Colonial Heritage Association and Schoharie Promotional Association. John was a faithful Mission Driven Volunteer with City Mission of Schenectady.
John and his wife traveled the United States from coast to coast on mission trips and adventures. But he loved his little cabin in the big woods in Schoharie Valley the best. He will be sorely missed.
