Robert Lee Childers, 85 years of age, of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life on Saturday, July 18th, 2020 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Robert was born in Bandy, Kentucky on December 12th, 1934, son of the late Frank and Lena Hamm Childers. He was a member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church and a United States Navy Veteran of the Korean War.

Robert was survived by his loving wife, Wilma L. Parks Childers; two daughters, Teri Lynn (and David) Holland and Janice Lee Childers, both of Louisville, Kentucky; two brothers, John E. Childers of Somerset, Kentucky and Ralph Childers of Richmond, Kentucky; one sister, Wanda Arbour of Norfolk, Virginia; two grandchildren, Jessica (and Wayne) Porter and Christopher Holland; one great-granddaughter, Willow Porter; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Childers, who departed this life on February 16th, 1970 and Lena Childers, who departed this life on January 22nd, 1987; and two brothers, Melvin Ray Childers, who departed this life on March 10th, 2018 and Kenneth Estel Childers, who departed this life on January 3rd, 1998.

Visitations were held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon on Wednesday, July 22nd, 2020 at the Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in Science Hill, Kentucky.

Funeral services were held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, July 22nd, 2020 in the Chapel of the Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro's. Monte Wells and Don Berry officiating.

Burial followed in the Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy, Kentucky.
