Mrs. Annie Mary Stewart, 95, “known to many as Aunt Sweet”, of Portsmouth, VA was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 20, 2019. She was a native of Portsmouth, VA and the daughter of the late John Cornelius and Annie Mary Herbert. She was married to the late Jack Stewart. She leaves behind to cherish her memory: her children, Walter Lee Stewart, Rose Stewart Kellam (Craig), Waldensia Barnes (Hayward), Walter Winfield (Chris), Adrian Winfield, Marion Winfield Sabedra (the late Pastor DeCarlo Sabedra, Sr.); Grandchildren: Regina Pope, the late Richard Stewart, David Stewart, Yolanda Linzy, Anita Cooke, John Cornelius Cooke, Chanta Mitchell, Derek Stewart, DeCarlo Sabedra, Jr., Brandon Sabedra, Deborah Sabedra, Brittany Sabedra and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, church family and friends.

The family will receive friends and guests at the Corprew Funeral Home in Portsmouth from 2:00pm to 7:00pm on Tuesday, September 24th, 2019.

The Home-going Celebration will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Zion Bethel United Church of Christ located at 1617 Des Moines Ave, Portsmouth, VA 23704. The Rev. Dr. D.A. Peace, Sr. will officiate. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park.
