Probably 2nd of 5 children (John, Ida, Sven Peter, Anna Christina, and Anton Bernhardt) of Carl Andersson and Anna Johanna Eliasson. As was typical at that time, she and his siblings took the last name "Carlson" from their father's 1st name. Ida was born in Snostorp, Sweden about 1861 and lived her entire life there. Her father died in 1857. Ida remained in Snostorp with her mother, brother John and sister Emma when her brothers Sven Peter and Anton Bernardt immigrated to the US in March of 1888. Her sister Emma later immigrated to the US in March of 1898.

At some point Ida married a man named Bruhn. No information about their children. Ida died in Snostorp in 1955 and buried in the Lutheran Church cemetery where her parents were buried.
