Mona married Dean F. Hill in Boulder, Colo. in 1966. Together they enjoyed 44 years of marriage. Mona was a member of Colorado Field Ornithologists and was a lover of local and natural histories, particularly Ancestral Puebloans, pioneer, animal and plant history. She loved time spent reading and she gave freely of her time volunteering at Lewis Arriola School and at Mesa Verde National Park. Mona was a chemist and spent much of her career in quality control testing.
