After many years battling health issues stemming from exposure to Agent Orange in Vietnam, Dennis Fred Remington passed away in Salt Lake City, Utah on Wednesday, 15 July 2020, from a cerebral hemorrhage. He was 71 years old.

Dennis was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on Wednesday, 9 February 1949, to Earl D. and Helen Augustina (Lyngberg) Remington. He had three brothers and one sister. He attended boarding school in California because, as one of his brothers described him, "Dennis was incorrigible."

During his childhood, he enjoyed working with horses.

Though Dennis had been raised as a Catholic, he joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1967. Dennis was 17 and had also enlisted in the Marine Corps. He served in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969, during the Tet Offensive and Operation Dewey Canyon. Shortly after, Dennis joined the Army Active Guard Reserve. He served his country for a total of twenty years.

Dennis married the former DeeAnne Kirk in Ely, Nevada on 7 February 1970; their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple later. The couple welcomed four children who were born from 1971 to 1979. He and his sweet wife had enjoyed fourteen years together before her passing in 1984 while they were stationed in Pennsylvania.

After returning to Utah, Dennis met Debbie Carver and quickly fell in love with her and her three children. The two married in the Salt Lake Temple on 9 March 1985 and blended their families into one. Home was filled with seven loud, disorganized kids and Dennis loved every minute of it. He felt his seven children were a true blessing from God.

In his spare time, Dennis liked to camp, hunt and fish--or participate in any activity that was outdoors. His favorite pastime was being surrounded by his grandchildren, who, frequently, led him down to the floor.

We profoundly miss our head of the family; we knew we were important to Dad and our loss of him is immeasurable!

In addition to his parents, Earl D. and Thilda Remington and Helen Lyngberg Anderson, and first wife, DeeAnne Remington, Dennis was predeceased by all four of his siblings, Earl Remington, Jr., Steven Remington, John Remington, and Lynn Anderson Morris.

Left to cherish his memory are Dennis's second wife, Debbie Remington; children, Danny (Tanya) Remington, DaNae (Joshua) Middleton, Dava (Heath) Peterson, Denys Remington-Wachterdorff, Jeffery (Shawna) Allen, Josh (Michelle) Allen, and Mindy (Rian) Versteeg; twenty-eight grandchildren; and four 4 great-grandchildren (plus one more "on the way"). Also suriving are his sister-in-law, Nancy Remington, and brother-in-law, John Morris.
