Betty Lou Fletcher, age 85, of Montrose, Illinois, passed away at 2:51 AM - Sunday, July 19, 2020, at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.

Funeral services celebrating Betty’s life will be held at 11:00 AM – Saturday, July 25, 2020, at the Montrose United Methodist Church in Montrose, Illinois, with Tonna Percival officiating. Burial will be in the Montrose Village Cemetery in Montrose, Illinois. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 24, 2020 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the church. In loving memory of Betty, memorials may be to the Montrose United Methodist Church. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Meyer Funeral Home – Bishop Chapel in Greenup, Illinois. Betty Lou was born on February 12, 1935, in Cumberland County, Illinois the daughter of Charlie and Irma (Walker) Hall. She married Gene Leroy Fletcher on April 27, 1953, and he preceded her in death on June 6, 2006.

Betty was retired from Fedder’s in Effingham, after many years of service. She was a member of the Montrose United Methodist Church.

Betty enjoyed listening to country music, playing bingo, reading, working puzzles and seek a word finds.

Betty is survived by:

Brother-in-law – Dennis (Jewell) Fletcher of Montrose, Illinois

Sisters-in-laws – Janet (Dennis) McMahon of Montrose, Illinois and Kate (Dave) Thomason of Montrose, Illinois

several nieces and nephews also survive

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Sharon Lee Fletcher and sister Pauline Stout.
