Funeral services for Marvin Lynn Cantrell, age 69, of Choudrant, LA will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Ruston, LA. Officiating the service will be Rev. Louis Bartet. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Calhoun, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston.
A visitation will be Monday, July 20, 2020 from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Ruston.
Mr. Cantrell was born on January 15, 1951 in Ruston, LA and died July 17, 2020 in Shreveport, LA. He was a member of Point Assembly of God Church. Marvin (Lynn) was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a man that loved God. He left a legacy of faith and a book he penned titled Notes from Father’s Heart. He enjoyed fishing with his grandsons, gardening and spending time outdoors. His smile and joyful spirit were uplifting to those who knew him. He had rules of faith to live by that he passed on to his grandsons. One of his favorites was, “Never be afraid, God has everything under control”.
Marvin (Lynn) is preceded in death by his father, Leo Cantrell and his mother, Roberta Cantrell.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Wanda Berry Cantrell of Choudrant, LA; daughters: Penny Hirata and husband Kazu of Ypsilanti, MI and Sara Comerose and husband Jeff of Salem, VA: grandchildren; Ken Hirata, Kai Hirata, Zachary Comerose, Carter Comerose: brothers, Dennis Max Cantrell and Jerry Cantrell of Choudrant, LA.
