Obituary of Peggy Sue Cleveland
Peggy Sue Hiland Cleveland, 81, of Pelham, Alabama, passed away Friday evening, July 17, 2020. She was born in Lebanon, Indiana on March 20, 1939.
Peggy graduated from Lebanon High School in 1957, two years before she married Robert Gordon Cleveland. While and after helping Bob to grow his commercial insurance business, she found her greatest enjoyment as a housewife, mother of two sons, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Peggy has been an active, long-time member of Pelham First Baptist Church, where she and Bob have mentored countless individuals and married couples. They've opened their hearts and their home to nurture families in their Christian faith.

Peggy was predeceased by her mother, Mary Renor Copeland; father, Orville Eugene Hiland; step-father, George Copeland; step-sisters, Georgia Coy and Roberta Denny; and brother, William Eugene Hiland.

Survivors include Peggy's husband, Bob, of Pelham; son, Brian Lee Cleveland (Natalin) of Alabaster, Alabama; son, Bradley "Brad" Wayne Cleveland (Connie) of Chelsea, Alabama; grandson, Matthew Brian Cleveland (Kami) of Alabaster; granddaughter, Meredith Denise Whiten (Alston) of Pelham; four great-grandsons, Matthew Aaron "Mac" Cleveland, William Kenneth "Liam" Cleveland, and Arthur Brian "Artie" Cleveland, all three of Alabaster, and Joshua "Aiden" Whiten of Pelham; and four sisters, Anna Belle Douglass of Kirklin, Indiana, Mildred Newman of London, Ohio, and Helen Davis and Janet Fitzwater of Indianapolis, Indiana.

The family will greet friends from 12 noon to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at Pelham First Baptist Church, immediately followed by A Celebration of Life for Peggy at 2 p.m. Dr. Daven Watkins will officiate. The burial will be at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham.
