Judith Ann 'Judy' (Kaminski) Flaherty

Judy Flaherty, 71, of Naugatuck, died Friday, July 17, 2020, at Saint Mary’s Hospital after a long illness. She was the widow of Michael J. Flaherty.

Judith was born in Waterbury Oct. 21, 1948, daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Yablonski) Kaminski. She worked as a licensed practical nurse, first at Waterbury Hospital, then at Glendale Center in Naugatuck for 30 years. She won a National Florence Nightingale Award for Nursing.

She was a member of the Naugatuck Women’s Club and the Prospect Senior Center.

Judith leaves daughter Tracey Lynn Echevarria and her husband Dulcidio, of Naugatuck; son Michael J. Flaherty III and his girlfriend Katherine Brandt, of Naugatuck; brothers, sisters and in-laws Anthony and Julie Kaminski, William and Jan Kaminski, Thomas and Maureen Kaminski, Nancy and Michael Conway, Susan and Stan Janik and Cindy and Paul Shupenis; grandchildren Alyssa, Alexis, Aaron, Michael and Draven; and great-grandchildren Aaliyah, Xander, Julian, Analiese, Alonzo, Leilani and Everleigh.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Naugatuck Valley Memorial Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home 240 N. Main St., Naugatuck, CT 06770.
