He was an office manager in the trucking industry. He was a member of the Elks' Club and an avid bowler, golfer and card player..He loved U of L and U of K Sports and would never turn down a Pabst Blue Ribbon (especially if it was free!)
Preceding him in death were his parents, William and Matilda Hancock, his first wife, Phenida Thompson Hancock, his second wife, Iva Piatt Hancock, his eldest son, Gerald Quinn Hancock, and his 7 sisters, Mary Emily Hancock (Herman), Esther Thomas (Sheldon), Martha Jane Freilinger (Otto), Margaret Hancock, Catherine Hancock, Dorothy Ackerman (Norman), and Edna Conklin (Byron).
Bill is survived by sons William T. (Barbara), Lester S. (Marsha) and daughter Martha Morin (Terry), grandchildren Jerry Hancock (Laura), Jeff Hancock (Margaret), Tom Hancock (Melissa), Kaye Hancock, Kathy Lamb (Peter), Allen Hancock (Christy), Kim Burns ( Marcus), Brett Hancock (Tiffany), Scott Hancock (Valerie), 10 great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
There will be a service at The Pavilion at Rest Haven Cemetery, 4400 Bardstown Rd. on Monday, July 20, 11:00am.
