Roy was born in West Union, South Carolina and was the son of the late Raymond and Bessie Moore Freeman. Roy was a veteran of the United States Navy where he retired as a Chief Petty Officer from 1958-1977 and was of the Southern Baptist Faith.
Survivors include daughter, Cynthia Terry and husband James; brothers, Wayne Freeman, Harold Freeman; sisters, Pat Austin, Evelyn Nelson, Joan Grant and Judy Boggs.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by daughter, Barbara Collette Freeman; brothers, William Freeman and Carl Freeman and a sister, Sara Fincannon.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Monday, July 20th, 2020 at Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow service on Monday, July 20th, 2020, at First Baptist Memorial Park. The family receive friends prior to the service on Monday, July 20th, 2020 from 10:00- 10:45 am.
