Don was born on October 6, 1943 in Longview. He was a graduate of Pine Tree High School class of 1961. Don worked in Insurance since 1964 for Washington National and Farmers Insurance. He was currently working for Securitas in Longview. Don was a devoted husband, and a loving father and Papaw. He was a dedicated Christian. He was a member of Citizen on Patrol in Longview and enjoyed his job. Don also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and playing with his dog Max.
Don was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Bishop, father, Don R. Bishop, Sr., grandmother, Gladys S. Haught, and daughter, Stacy Bishop of Longview.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Gwen Bishop of Longview; daughter, Michelle Bowlden of Longview; son, Bryan Bishop and wife, Angela of Henderson; son, Stephen Bishop of Gilmer; grandchildren, Kolten Bishop, Kaitlyn Bowlden, Kalub Bishop, Carolann Bishop, and Kelsey Bishop; brother, Charles Bishop of Austin; sisters, Patricia Townsend and Gloria Sanders both of Longview; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and many other extended family and friends.
