Francis J. “Bucky” Hunt Jr., 68, beloved husband for 44 years of Elaine (Clancy) Hunt, of Bradford, died at his home, March 27, 2006.
Born in Westerly, he was the son of the late Francis J. Hunt Sr. and the late Stefania (Pianowski) Hunt.
Mr. Hunt had been employed as a millwright at Harris Graphics for 28 years and later became self-employed as a carpenter. He was a member of the board of directors at Cottrell Credit Union and a member of the Machinists & Aerospace Workers Union while at Harris. He enjoyed woodworking and was a Korean War veteran having served in the U.S. Army in Korea for more than 17 months, honorably discharged after serving more than three years.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are two sisters, Elizabeth MacPhail of Charlestown and Shirley Brailey of Coventry; and many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Karl E. Hunt.
A calling hour will be held Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30p.m. in the Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated Wednesday at 2 p.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Church, Church Street, Bradford. There is no procession from the funeral home to the church. Interment with military honors will be in St. Sebastian Cemetery, Westerly.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Charlestown Ambulance Service, Box 346, 4891 Old Post Road, Charlestown, RI 02813-0346.
