Mrs. Carol J. Jones Logsdon, 79 of Knoxville and formerly of Abingdon, passed away at 6:06 a.m. Friday, July 17, 2020 at her home.

She was born May 29, 1941 in Peoria, the daughter of Donald E. and Vera C. (Davis) Livingston. She married Robert M. Jones, Jr. on September 26, 1958 in Farmington. He preceded her in death on February 28, 1995. She later married Dale L. Logsdon on January 25, 1997 in Knoxville.

Carol is survived by her husband, Dale; her daughter, Carla (and Dave) Kaser of Knoxville and their family, Carol’s grandchildren, Jennifer (and Jamie) Mitchell, Nicole (and Travis) Darmer and Matthew (and Haley) Kaser, and Carol’s great-grandchildren, Kristopher Mitchell, McKenzie Mitchell, Lucas Darmer, Hadley Darmer, Kyler Darmer, Vera Darmer and baby Jaxon Kaser on the way; her son, Robert (and Vonda) Jones III and their family, Carol’s grandchildren, Ryan, Austin and Shana; her sister, Sharon (and David) Gilbert of Morton and their son, Chad and his family; her stepdaughter, Diane Walsh of Bellville; her step-grandchildren, Jude (and Brock) Perrine and Josh (and Isabel) Goodman; and her step-great-grandchildren, Nick (and Stephanie) Skaggs, Lauren (and Johnny) Williamson and Reese Perrine.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and a stepdaughter, Lorrie Goodman.

Carol grew up in Farmington and attended Farmington Schools. After her first marriage, she moved to Abingdon where she worked in the office for Bob’s business, Bob Jones Autobody. She later worked at the Admiral factory in Galesburg, Abingdon Industries, Don Brown Trucking in Abingdon and Kaser Power Equipment in Knoxville. She has lived in Knoxville since 1997 and was a member of the Knoxville First Christian Church. Carol enjoyed traveling and she and Dale traveled to all 50 states. In her earlier years, she enjoyed camping. But most of all, Carol enjoyed talking and sharing with her family and friends.

Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at the Abingdon Cemetery. Rev. Don Williams will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing limitations and face masks are suggested for both events.
