He served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1966 First Cavalry Vietnam War Veteran. Roy retired from Publix in 1999.
He is survived by his son, Mark Jackson (Karen), grandsons; Jacob, Colton and Tyler, two great grandsons; Maddox and Maverick, siblings; Lavon, Wayne, James "JV", Wyman, Norman, Brenda, Maudine, Reba and girlfriend, Gerline "Jerri" Stephens and several nephews, nieces and cousins.
Roy is preceded in death by his parents, William and Ivon Jackson and brother, John "Johnny" Jackson.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at 10 am at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to American Legion Post 4 at 1375 Ariana Street, Lakeland, Florida 33803.
He was a Great Man. He will be missed by everyone that knew him.
