Janet Anderson, age 58 of Sauk Centre, passed away peacefully at CentraCare Hospital in St. Cloud, on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019, surrounded by her family.

Janet Marie Anderson was born on Oct. 4, 1960, at St. Michael’s Hospital, Sauk Centre. She was the sixth of seven children born to Alex, Jr. (Gus) and Irma (Hagedorn) Anderson. She was baptized, made her First Holy Communion, and confirmed at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. She attended Holy Family School and Sauk Centre Public Schools, graduating from Sauk Centre High School in 1979. Upon completion of high school, Janet attended nursing school in Rochester, earning her Licensed Practical Nursing degree. For two years, she worked at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud. In 1984, she pursued her lifelong dream of becoming a flight attendant. For the past 35 years, she was employed by American Airlines, a job she absolutely loved. Her international flights took her all over the world and she considered her American Airlines family as her second family.

Janet enjoyed gourmet cooking, (never following a recipe), painting with water colors, playing Scrabble, an occasional trip to the casino, visiting on the telephone with family and friends, spending time with her two cats, Muffin and Peanut, and most importantly, spending time with her family. She had a heart of gold with a wonderful sense of humor, quick wit, and loved to laugh and make others around her happy. She was a very caring and giving person, with a compassionate heart, always sharing with others and remembering each of her family members on every occasion. Janet, also, thoroughly enjoyed every flight she worked as a flight attendant, always bringing joy and happiness to the passengers she served, earning many awards with American Airlines for her exemplary service.

She is survived by three brothers, James (Barbara) Anderson, Sauk Centre, Charles (Nancy) Anderson, Sauk Centre, and John Anderson, Elbow Lake; one sister, Cheryl (Jerry) Keller, Nashua; one sister-in-law, Jean Anderson, Grey Eagle; 10 nieces and nephews; 14 great-nieces and great-nephews; and one great-great nephew.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert and William; and one niece, Bethany Ann Keller.
