William “Bill” Alan Hewitt, age 65, of Bloomingdale, died Monday July 13, 2020 at Albany Medical Center.

He was born in Saranac Lake, NY on October 31, 1954, the son of Jack and Mary (Stickney) Hewitt.

Bill was a lifelong resident and graduated from Saranac Lake High School in 1972. He voluntarily joined the Marine Corps serving from 1972 -1974 during the Vietnam war. He was honorably discharged with the rank of L/Cpl. Bill graduated North Country Community College in 1978 with an AAS Degree in Mental Health. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Bill is survived by his son William “BJ” Hewitt of Moira, NY and his daughter Michelle (Bryan) of North Carolina. He is also survived by four grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, his brother Dick and sister Jody as well as many nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, a brother John and two sisters: Pat and Ann.

Burial in Merrillsville Cemetery in Loon Lake, NY.
