Matthew John Watson, 40, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018. He was the beloved son of John E. and Jolane O. (Boomhower) Watson of Jacobus. He is also survived by two brothers, Andy S. Watson of Mechanicsburg and David M. Watson of Odenton.

Matthew was born on August 19, 1977 in York and was a 1995 graduate of Dallastown Area High School where he was involved in Marching Band, Concert Band and Stage Band. He was a 1999 graduate of The Penn State University, with a BS degree in Management Information Systems. While at Penn State, he performed a work-study program in their computer lab and served as a Lion Ambassador. Matthew earned his master's degree in Information Technology from University of Phoenix and worked for the Department of Defense at Ft. Meade, MD. When he wasn't working, Matt loved exercising his boxer/beagle mix, "Marley."

Funeral services will be private. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Matthew may be made to Salem United Church of Christ, 24 Franklin Street, Jacobus, PA 17407.
