Wanda P. Cox, 70, of Shelbyville, died on Tuesday, the 14th day of July, 2020, at her residence. Born and raised in Shelbyville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Thomas and Emily Carter Hedges, and the widow of Thomas Eugene Cox. A former custodian of the Shelby County Public School System, she was also a member of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
Known to everyone as “Nanny,” and a devoted mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, her survivors include her children, Barry Cox (Lori) of Waddy, Rhonda Bratcher and Chris Cox (Melissa) both of Shelbyville; her sisters, Myrtle Woods and Lois Lawson, both of Shelbyville; her brother, Carroll Hedges of Port Arthur, Texas; her grandchildren, Justin (Shawna), Stephen, T.J., Isaura, Jonathan, Montana, Josh, Katelyn, and Kaylee; and her great-grandchild, Rowan.
Funeral Services will be private. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., on Saturday, the 18th day of July, 2020, at the Grove Hill Cemetery, with the Reverend David Woosley officiating.
