He passed away with his wife of 38 years, Susan Morris. Johnny was born and raised in Vidalia, GA with his older brother, Jimmy. Johnny grew up hunting, fishing, and working construction with his dad and brother. Johnny attended Georgia Southern, where he met his future wife, Susan Petty (Ringgold, GA). Johnny worked as a banker, while spending lots of time with his son Matthew going fishing, camping and visiting theme parks. He was an active member of Gideons International. Johnny retired from NWGA bank over a year ago. He spent his retired life with Susan enjoying the outdoors hiking and biking, mowing yards for family members and widows, and humbly helping his family and those around him in need.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Rudy Morris.
Survivors include his son, Matthew (Betty) Morris; brother, Jimmy (Dwilene) Morris; grandsons, Levi, Noah and Samuel John; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Wednesday at Woodland Park Baptist Church with Pastor Larry Frick officiating. Interment will follow in Anderson Memorial Gardens.
