Paul Noel was the first born to Frank and Frances Noel on January 23, 1936 at Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.

He was raised in the Hill District and attended Schenley High School. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1954. During his time in the Army, he was in Korea for 1 ½ years. He was honourably discharged in 1957 and continued with a career in the Army Reserves for 5 years. Paul received the National Defense Service and Marksman Medals; upon his exit from the Army his ranking was Staff Sergeant.

Paul retired from the Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh after 30 years of employment.

In the late 1970s Paul accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and personal Saviour; he became a member of Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ. While a member, he was on the Trustee Board and brought in a crew to revitalize the women’s bathroom at the 1675 Laketon Road edifice.

Paul united in marriage to Alma Lucille Peters on July 15, 1978; this union brought forth the youngest child, Melony Nichole.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents, daughter (Linda Hill), sisters (Lucy Kelly and Maryanne Harper) and brothers (Billy Noel and Walter Noel). Paul leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Alma Lucille; sister, Virginia Battle; sons: Paul Anthony (Sharon), Donald (Laura), Mark (Christine), and Marc Peters Sr; daughters: Adrianne (Alex), Stephanie and Melony. He also leaves behind the love of 22 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Paul was not a very emotional man, but he loved his family and above all loved his children unconditionally and would do anything for them.
