Mrs Alexander McGill
Following a short illness, Mrs Alexander McGill, well known resident of Almonte, died at her home on Sunday. The late Mrs McGill whose maiden name was Jennie Armstrong, was born 86 years ago in Ramsay township, the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Charles Armstrong, pioneer settlers. Many years ago she was married to Alexander McGill and after farming in Ramsay they moved to Almonte six years ago. Mr McGill died in 1935. Mrs McGill was a devout member of the Almonte Presbyterian church. Surviving are one daughter and three sons, William, John, Victor and Miss Ida McGill, all of Almonte. There is also one brother, William Armstrong of Almonte. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon from her late residence, with interment in the Auld Kirk Cemetery. Rev A.J. Fowlie, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, officiated. The pallbearers were Wesley McCann, Jack McGill, Jas McGill, Thos McGill, Alex Barker and Jas Timmins
