According to the book "The Two" by Irving and Amy Wallace, Frederick moved to Missouri and according to a descendant he was killed in a barroom fight in St. Louis, date unknown.
There also is a family tree record on Ancestry.com that says Fred died on October 23, 1886 of tuberculosis in Fort Smith, Arkansas. However, he had come to Kansas for awhile, because he obtained original land near his brothers James and Patrick in Ryan Twp., Sumner Co., KS on section 8, the west half of the southwest quarter, recorded in Patent book #6, page 60 and he is in the 1880 census for Ryan Twp., Sumner Co., KS in the same household with his brother P. H. and wife Mollie. There are several news items in the Sumner County Press newspaper regarding him and his brothers.
