Mr. Kenneth George Webster, age 73, a resident the Pungo Community of Pantego died Sunday July 12, 2020 at his home.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday July 15, 2020 at Terra Ceia Church of Christ officiated by Billy Ray Askew and Jeff Brunsman. Burial will follow in Webster Family Cemetery in the Free Union community of Pinetown. Gary Respess, Fred Howell, Pate Howell, Chris Howell, Robbie Harris, Dennis Webster and Jerry Vann will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Caleb Sherman.

The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday July 14, 2020 at the church and other times at the home.

George was born in Beaufort County on February 5, 1947, son of the late Hallet Ward Webster, Sr. and the late Grace Crumpler Webster. He was a 1965 graduate of Pantego High School. On April 2, 1982 he married the former Joyce “Joy” Vann who survives. George was a farmer with Webster Brothers Farm who also worked with several other farms including Respess Farms. He also worked with Sawyer Land Developing. His life was centered around family, work and enjoyed playing golf. He was a member of the former Pantego Ruritan Club, Belhaven Masonic Lodge 509 AF&AM and Terra Ceia Church of Christ. At his church he had served on the Deacon Board.

Surviving along with his wife Joy of the home are a son: Derek Webster of the Pungo Community of Pantego; a step-daughter: Kim Harris (Robbie) of the Sidney community of Belhaven; three grandchildren: Alyssa Woodward, Ashleigh Woodward and Barrett Harris and several nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by a son: Mark “Webster” Brooks and two brothers: Hallet “Buddy” Webster and Kirby Webster.
