Mrs. Kathy Mae Chambers, 67, Overland Park, Kan., dued Nibdatm Hybe 15, 2020, at the University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City, Kan.
She was born Feb. 24, 1953, in Peoria, Ill., a daughter of Vent Thomas, Sr. and Isa Mae Mummert Drake. Her husband of 45 years, Mike Chamber, survives of the home.
Mrs. Chambers worked with her husband many years in their own business installing and repairing sprinkler systems. As a young girl she worked in the cafeteria and office at St. Paul's School of Theology, Methodist Seminary in Kansas City, Mo., where her parents worked, and also baby sat and mowed yards. Her first office job was at Percy Kent Bag Co., and later took a job at an appliance store. She enjoyed listening to live music, and working in her flower gardens and yard.
Also surviving are three brother, Vent Thomas Drake Jr. with his wife phyllis, Lenexa, Kan., Larry Drake with his wife, Kathy, Latham, and Jim Drake with his wife, Donna, LaMonte; two sisters, Diana Bird, California, and Sherry Johnson with her husband, Mike, Tipton; 12 nieces and nephews and 26 great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Kevin Bird.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 12, at the Weatherby Lake Pavilion, Weatherby Lake, MO. A private family celebration will follow.
The family suggests memorials to Children's Mercy Hospital, Kansas City.
Arrangements are under the direction of Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville.
