Diane Coleman Washington was born July 29, 1959 to Andrew Coleman and Annie Lou Griffin Neely Coleman in Cook County, IL.

She received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior when she was a teenager. She was baptized and became a member of Pioneer Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago, IL.

She was diligent. Yes, she had brains but she worked very hard. She did well in high school and was a graduate of Aquinas Dominican High School for Girls. She furthered her education at Roosevelt University where she received her Bachelors Degree in Social Work. She was the first person in her immediate family to graduate from college.

She had a sense of humor. Anyone who knew Diane well realized sooner or later that she had the ability to make sad people glad with wit, humor, and unexpected punch lines. She was a sense of strength and support to many.

She was a wonderful mother to her only child and daughter, Trisha Ann.

She was involved in the life of the church. For a number of years, she was involved in Reba Place Church in Evanston, IL. In 2003, she joined Bethany Baptist Church of Christ in Evanston where she served as the President of Mission Ministry.

She died November 7, 2011 at the age of 52.

She was the Mother of Trisha Ann Washington; the Daughter of Andrew Coleman and Annie Lou Griffin Neely Coleman Harvey; the Step Daughter of Willis Harvey; the Sister of Rev. Winfred Neely, Samuel Neely, Rev. Michael Neely, Infant Sister Neely, Charlie Coleman; and the Maternal Granddaughter of T.S. Griffin and Lucille Clayborne Griffin.
