Jerry Carpenter Wagner Sr., 88, of Leesburg, FL, went to be with our Heavenly Father on July 5, 2020 at Cornerstone Hospice of Tavares, FL. He was born on Nov. 21, 1931 in Sistersville, WV to Homer C. and Mabel Carpenter Wagner.

A 1950 graduate of St. Marys, WV, High School, he also attended Marietta, OH College for 2 years. He was a member of the Grand Central Avenue Church of Christ from 1956-1991 where he served as a deacon. He was also a member of the Mt. Dora Church of Christ from 1991-2020. Jerry owned and operated Wagner Discount Tire or Parkersburg, WV for 40 years before retiring. He was a lifetime member of the Vienna, WV Curtain Club. Jerry loved hosting the Carpenter Reunion at Raven Rock, WV for 24 years. He loved collecting and selling antiques and collectibles and has a booth at Renniger’s Flea Market for 20 years.

Jerry loved his family, especially the 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Janet Beha Wagner.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Cotton of Chickasha, OK; granddaughter, Courtney Cotton Van Sant and one great granddaughter, Ava Marie Wagner of Williamstown, WV; brothers, Franklin Wagner of Sanibel, FL and Cecil Wagner of Lincoln, MA; sister, Rhoda Triplett of Marietta, OH.

He is survived by two sons, Mark Wagner (Joann) of Williamstown, WV, Jerry Jr. (Christie) of Vienna, WV; daughter, Beth Hayhurst (Davie) of Peculiar, MO.

A Memorial Service will be held in WV at a later date. Arrangements by Baldwin Brothers Funerals & Cremations, Tavares, FL.
