Patricia Lynn Bell Wooldridge (Patti) of Houston went home to be with her Lord on July 2, 2020. She was born in Harahan, Louisiana on January 6, 1956.

Patti was the second daughter of the late Anne Blake Bell and H. Grady Bell, Jr., both from Texas. She was preceded in death by her older sister, Janet Bell Taylor, and her beloved daughter, Marsha. After first settling in Houston, the Bell family moved to Great Yarmouth, England in 1967. Patti flourished in her adventuresome childhood, formed many lifelong friendships within the close-knit Petroleum expatriate community, and enjoyed memorable family vacations exploring northern England, Scotland, and surrounding countries. Patti participated in the Teen Club, Bowling League, and Spring Break trips which included visits to Scotland, skiing in Austria, and fun in Majorca, Spain.

Patti moved back to Texas after graduating from high school and married her sweetheart, Woody Wooldridge, on August 24, 1976. This began a nearly 45-year partnership, two beautiful children, Marsha and Cody, and Patti's energetic devotion to her family. Patti delighted in volunteering with kids' school events, she helped Woody run his masonry business, and she worked for Houston Community College for 27 years as a secretary in the Biology Department. She loved working with the students, and took special interest in helping them navigate the system. Many a doctor returned to thank her for her service in helping them get their start. Forever the activist and servant, Patti helped form the Marsha Anne Wooldridge Scholarship for students at HCC after tragically losing her daughter to a traffic accident in 2002.

Patti loved music (especially Pearl Jam!), was an accomplished cook, and gained the most joy from spending time baking, crafting, and playing games with her beloved grandsons Dylan and Nicholas.

Patti never met a stranger, and devoted her life to helping others in need, including the need for laughter. She possessed a unique gift of quick-witted humor, and spread laughter and joy wherever she went. Her optimism shone brightly even throughout the darkest of hours, and lit the path for many who had stumbled along the way in life. Her faith is the Lord was unwavering.

Patti is survived by her husband, Woody; son, Cody; brother, Grady; grandsons, Dylan and Nicholas; nieces, Kimberly Kennedy, Tricia Taylor, Casey Hogan, Austin Taft; mother-in-law, Mary Wooldridge; and sister-in-law, Shelly Wells; along with many friends, old and new. Patti will be forever missed and her memory cherished by all those who knew and loved her.

Due to Covid-19, no services will be held, but a memorial service will be planned at a later date. Guest book may be signed at Hernandez Funeral Home (Rosenberg, TX) and Houston Chronicle.
