Dan David Atkinson
Age 84, of Glasgow, Kentucky died at his home.

Paul and Perni (Starr) Atkinson
Husband of:
Peggy Sue (Jordan) Atkinson. They were married fifty five years.
Predeceased by:
His parents; five sisters: Marian C. Steffey (Clyde), Mary Bryant Froedge, Betty Pursley (James Robert), Carolyn Pace (Harold, “Squeaky”) and Virginia Kinslow.
He was saved by God’s grace August 9, 1972, at Dover Missionary Baptist Church in Haywood where he was ordained as a deacon. At the time of his death, he was a member, deacon and Sunday School teacher at Union #2 Missionary Baptist Church.
Military:
He served his country honorably and was a United States Marine and Air Force Veteran.
He served a collective nine years.
He retired from SKF as a foreman after working there more than twenty years.
He worked for the Barren County Employment office and as a veteran representative for a decade.
After retirement, he was a Disabled American Veterans (DAV) service clerk.
He was a treasurer and adjutant for DAV Chapter 20 Glasgow and served on the Honor and Color Guard for more than fifteen years.
Survivors:
His wife; two children: Robin Shirley (Darren) and Derek Atkinson (Katherine); five grandchildren: Brittany Shirley, Brianna Shirley, EmaKate Atkinson, Hayes Atkinson and Ann Ashley Atkinson; one brother-in-law: Dan Kinslow; many beloved nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family members and friends.
Services:
Funeral services held at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
Military Honors provided at the cemetery.
