Wayne D. Peterson age 87 long time resident of Beecher, Illinois passed away on July 11, 2020.

Beloved husband to Sue (nee Wassmann). Loving father to Mark Peterson, Matt (Grace) Peterson, Kevin (Vickie) Peterson, Erik (Sharon) Peterson and Amy (Thomas) Peterson-Janicki.

Perceded in death by sons Timothy Peterson, Randall Peterson and parents Leonard and Elvira (Jurgerson) Peterson.

Cherished grandfather to Chloe, Randy, Jaime (Nick) and Eden. Brother to Shirley (Russ) Boettger, late Charlene (late Eddie) Niebling, late Donald (late Joyce) Peterson, late Norma (late Marvin) Grutzius, Jerry (late Nancy) Peterson, late Kenneth (Dawn) Peterson and Leonard Peterson. Fond Uncle to many nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to Steve & Cheryl Peterson and family for all their help and support.

Dear brother in law to Sara (Vince) Schrementi and nieces Tori and Angela. Fond son in law to Beverly Wassmann.

Wayne was a self-employed general contractor and he proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. Wayne also served as a member of the Crete Volunteer Fire Department.

A special thank you to all the doctors & nurses that cared for Wayne, especially Dr. Stephanie Marshall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Wayne’s memory to the Crete Fire Department, Trinity Lutheran Church in Crete and the American Cancer Society.

A visitation was held Sunday, July 19th from 2 PM until 7 PM with services immediately following at the Crete Funeral Home, Crete, Illinois.

Private internment for family: Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, Illinois.
