Ann (Meany) Caldwell of Hollis, NH passed away on March 25, 2009 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH surrounded by her family following a valiant battle with ovarian cancer. She was the wife of the late David Caldwell who died in 1998. Born in Worcester MA, Ann was the daughter of Philip E. Meany Sr., of Grafton, MA. and the late Ruth (McNamara) Meany. A graduate of Notre Dame Academy in Worcester, Ann attended Rhode Island School of Design and Chamberlain College in Boston. She was very passionate about the Hollis community and volunteered much of her energies and time in implementing Beaver Brook's summer youth program. Ann also was a member of the Hollis Planning Board. Appointed by the Hollis Town Moderator to assist at Town Meetings and those of the Hollis School District, Ann was a member of the New England Association of Planning Councils and served on the Nashua Regional Planning Commission from 1985-1999. Ann was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church in Pepperell, MA serving as Eucharistic Minister, Parish Council and taught in the Christian Education Program at the church. Until recently, Ann worked as an administrative assistant at Lawrence Academy in Groton, MA. She was previously employed at Immersive Design in Acton and had also worked at the Frye's Measure Mill in Wilton, NH. Ann ran the day-to-day operations of I.P.S., her husband's home inspection business for more than 15 years. Ann's survivors include her two daughters Kirsten Zimmerman and her husband Gary, and Roisin McElroy and her husband James, all of Brookline, NH, her father Philip Sr., of Grafton, MA, a brother Philip Jr., and his wife Heidi of Arlington, VA, two sisters Kathleen Carey and her husband Richard of Rutland, VT, and Mary Elizabeth Salsman and her husband Kenneth of Westborough, MA, eight grandchildren as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ann's family will receive relatives and friends from 3-6 pm on Wednesday, April 1st, at her residence, 42 Worcester Road, Hollis, NH. A Funeral Mass of Celebration of Life will be held at 11 am on Thursday, April 2nd in her parish church of St. Joseph's, 26 Tarbell Street, Pepperell, MA. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, where Ann will be placed to rest with her husband. Although she loved flowers, Ann also found great enjoyment in helping others. In keeping with her wishes, her family requests that memorial contributions be made to Community Hospice House, 210 Naticook Road, Merrimack, NH 03054.
