George Murphy Isgriggs, of Potosi, MO., passed away Saturday, September 21, 2002, in Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, at the age of 63 years, 1 month,and 20 days. He was born August 1, 1939 at Potosi, to the late Guy Logan and Floy (Duncan) Isgriggs. George was a life long resident of Potosi, where he was a barber for many years and he and his wife owned and operated Potosi Florist. He was also a Veteran of the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Juanita Carr; two brothers, Johnny and Paul Eddie Isgriggs; and two son-in-laws, Mark Wade and John Siekmann. Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife of 41 years, Sue (Beardsley) Isgriggs of Potosi, Kimberly Vivian and husband Kalvin of Potosi, Karmen Wade of Potosi, Karla Siekmann of Potosi and Kelly Dearing of Bonne Terre; one sister, Lillian "Peaches" Simley of Potosi; 9 grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends who will greatly miss him.
Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2002 at Hopewell Church of God with Rev. Jim Wade officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Kalvin Vivian, Rex Isgriggs, Lloyd Shepard, Dennis Beardsley, Willie Sampson and Merle Yarbrough.
Interment was in the Sunset Hill Cemetery, Potosi, under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
